If the person dies in a hospital or hospice, the medical team will handle the next steps.
The Coroner will arrange for the person to be taken to the Coroner's mortuary.
The Coroner may decide to arrange a post-mortem examination.
Getting in touch with us
As soon as you feel ready, call us - there's no hurry to do this, but we're available day or night. We'll begin making arrangements as soon as the Coroner has finished their enquiries. We'll liaise with the Coroner's Office so that you don't have to.
Navigating the Coroner's process
The Coroner may:
